Children, Adolescents, Adults
Therapy is going to look different for everyone.
For children or teens, it may be difficult name and express emotions or experiences new to them, it can take time to build trust. Therapy can act as a bridge, help them gain confidence, work through normalizing their emotions, allow for greater comfort with their authentic selves and allow for a space to exhale.
Whatever it is, we take our time and get to the heart of it, allowing space for expression through words, art, play and develop coping skills that may help them move through the world with more ease and comfort.
Adults may require a bit of unlearning of the ideas they've been taught to believe about themselves. Perhaps a late diagnosed neurodivergent adult is finally coming to terms with what has made certain social situations or workplace interactions such a challenge, and they need a place to confront that safely.
There's no judgment here. There's no need to fix who you are, it's more about using the information in front of you to plan ways for safer interaction with the world, self compassion, learning ways to care for yourself and advocate for your needs. Most assuredly, whatever brings you to therapy, whether it's for yourself, learning to support a partner or child in different ways, you aren't alone on this journey.
